Preparation

Get ADB

mkdir ~/LineageOS
cd ~/LineageOS

Prepare S7 for ADB

• Open Settings, and select “About”.
• Tap on “Build number” seven times.
• Go back, and select “Developer options”.
• Scroll down, and check the “Android debugging” or “USB debugging” entry under “Debugging”.
• Plug your device into your computer.
• On the computer, open up a terminal/command prompt and type adb devices.
• A dialog should show on your device, asking you to allow usb debugging. Check “always allow”, and choose “OK”.

Compile and Install Heimdall

tar xzvf heimdall-suite-1.4.0.tar.gz 
cd heimdall-suite-1.4.0/
cd libpit/
./configure 
make
cd ..
cd heimdall
./configure 
make
sudo make install
sudo udevadm control --reload-rules

Start Samsung S7 in Download Mode

• Power off the device
• Connect the USB adapter to the computer (but not to the device, yet).
• Boot into download mode: With the device powered off, hold Volume Down + Home + Power.
• Accept the disclaimer
• Insert the USB cable into the device.

Install Heimdall

heimdall print-pit

Phone should reboot now.
